English

Our English curriculum is led by the National Curriculum 2014. This is adapted by all our teachers to provide a broad range of genres around which to plan learning activities. Education provision in English is related to attainment not age. Learning activities are differentiated to ensure that all pupils make the best possible progress.

In Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, English is taught daily through a series of carefully planned lessons. These lessons focus on the development of skills in Spoken language, Reading and Writing. Wherever appropriate we seek opportunities to teach English skills through all areas of our curriculum.
