Welcome to our Year 2 page!

In Year 2, we work and play together, helping each other to achieve our very best. We try really hard to work independently, developing resilience and aiming high. We enjoy learning, exploring new topics and having fun!

Throughout the year we will be displaying some of what we've been getting up to on this page.

For more information, parents please check our class dojo regularly.

Mrs Waldron, Mrs Cartwright, Miss Staley and Miss Attwood

In Year 2, we follow the 5W's by making sure everyone feels Welcome.

We share the Word of God through the things we say and do.

We protect the Welfare of everyone we meet so that we all feel safe and happy at school.

We Worship together, sharing our prayers and thoughts with God.

By doing these things we Witness the work and life of Jesus every day.

During this half term (Autumn 1), our topic is ‘Goodness Gracious, Great Walls of Fire!’

For the Autumn term in Y2, the children will have a following timetable which will be as follows:

PE (2C and 2W)

Spelling test

New spellings given out

PE (2C)

PE (2W)

Reading books changed

Please note that children need to ensure they have a full PE kit in school and that earring should not be worn. If you child does need to wear earrings, please cover them with tape before they come to school.

It is so important that your child is reading every day, just for 10 minutes. Little and often is much more effective. Please ensure you sign your child’s reading record book so we can see who is reading at home. Please send this into school every day.

Children will bring home spellings each Monday for a test the following Monday. These will also be posted on dojo for you.

If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your support.
