Operation Encompass- Bury Encompass Commitment
As part of St Mary’s RC Primary’s school commitment to keeping children safe we have signed up to implement the principles and aims of the Encompass Model.
In signing up to Encompass the Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team:-
Endorse the Encompass Model and support the Key Adults in our school to fulfil the requirements of the Bury Encompass Protocol
Promote and implement Bury Encompass processes and use these in accordance with internal safeguarding children processes.
Recognise the sensitive nature of the information provided and ensure that this is retained in accordance with the principles of data protection.
A nominated member of school staff, known as a Key Adult, has been trained to liaise with the police. At St Mary’s our Key Adult is Mrs Gerrard. They will be able to use information that has been shared with them, in confidence, to ensure that the school is able to support children and their families. Information will be shared where it is identified that a child or young person was present, witnessed or was involved in a domestic abuse incident.
